Please upload relevant documents for years prior to 2013 for documents requested throughout the organizer.
Foreign Financial Account Information
Tip
A foreign account includes checking, savings, investment, retirement accounts, and life insurance with a cash value that you own separately, jointly, or have signature authority over, but no ownership interest. These include both employer and individual retirement accounts as well as vested stock option accounts.

You are required to submit an FBAR (FinCen Form 114) in any year when the aggregate value of your foreign financial accounts exceeds $10,000 USD. Previous to the 2016 year, this form was due by June 30th, however, this year the Form is due on the same date as your tax return, including extensions. In addition to the FBAR, you may have to file Form 8938 (Statement of Specified Foreign Financial Assets) with your tax return if the aggregate value of your foreign assets while living abroad exceed $300,000 throughout the year ($600,000 if filing jointly), or $200,000 on the last day of the year ($400,000 if filing jointly).

Please note that you will be requested to provide information on each account on the next page

Your Spouse Information
Tip
If your spouse is not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident visa holder, they are not required to file a tax return, or be claimed on your return so long as they did not reside in the U.S. for a specified number of days (typically 6 months). While nonresident spouses can make an election to be treated as a U.S. resident and file jointly with their U.S. citizen/resident spouse, they are then required to report all income on the U.S. return. Additionally, he or she must obtain an ITIN if they do not already have an SSN, which can be a lengthy and costly process. It is typically not recommended to make this election outside of a few situations (for instance, the spouse is a non-working spouse and the taxpayer has a tax liability due to filing status), but you can always inquire with your Advisor to see if it makes sense for your specific situation.

Please note that your spouse's Last Name will need to match the name on record with the Social Security Administration
Your Dependent Children Information
Tip
Your children and other dependents can be a source of deductions and/or credits. These include childcare expenses for children under 13 at the time the care was provided, a possible child tax credit for dependents under the age of 17, higher education related expenses for tuition, and other various deductions. Be sure to fully answer the questions related to your dependent children throughout the questionnaire to maximize these benefits.

Your Trips to U.S.
Please list all your trips back to the U.S., whether for business or pleasure. For business days, only include the actual amount of days that you primarily spent working. This typically does not include weekends or holidays, unless those days were spent principally for work purposes.

Please provide a name for your trip that can be used as a reference (e.g. New York Trip)
